Adelaide, South Australia – The We Got Game Academy has engaged Lumin Sports to help monitor and support the wellbeing of its members.
The academy provides talent pathways and education opportunities for female footballers in the Kimberley region of Western Australia.
The deal will see the academy roll out the Lumin platform to its athletes to bolster its wellness monitoring and support capabilities both in and out of the football season.
Co-Founder of the We Got Game Academy, Brad Ward, said Lumin will be able to assist with the academy’s key pillars.
‘’We’re all about guiding our players along their pathways and enhancing their wellbeing with support in whichever area they need,’’ Ward said.
‘’We think the implementation of the Lumin platform will assist in all these areas, especially in getting direct feedback on how the players are tracking with their wellbeing.’’
‘’Our program aims to build confidence and skills during the West Kimberley Football League (WKFL) Season and to provide ongoing training, support, and self-development when the football season is over because we recognise that this is a vulnerable time of year for First Nations people in the Kimberley.’’
Lumin Sports CEO, Benjamin Tripodi, said the company is proud to be able to offer tools that support athlete wellbeing and provide crucial insights for coaches to act on.
‘’Wellness questionnaires and reporting were one of the first features we ever built in the platform because we know wellbeing is the foundation of athletic performance,’’ Tripodi said.
‘’Athletes who don’t receive support when they’re going through a prolonged period of stress, soreness, irritability or mental-exhaustion are highly vulnerable, so monitoring and identifying athletes who may need more help than others is critical – not just to athletic performance but life in general.’’
‘’The We Got Game Academy recognise this and we’re proud to be helping them perform their roles as advocates for the women footballers lucky enough to be in their program.’’
The signing of We Got Game marks the third academy to join the Lumin Sports ranks, following the addition of the Mornington Peninsula Junior Football League and the largest youth soccer club in the world, Rush Academy.
